Like a retractable tape measure, the Zap Gate Retractable Electric Gate automatically recoils back into its own housing. Thus, it will never touch the ground, short out the rest of the fence, be driven over, or accidentally shock either a person or livestock. The Zap Gate consists of a highly visible, spring loaded cartridge that dispenses from 2 to 20 feet of 1-inch-wide poly electric fence wire, at the exposed end of which is a plastic handle with a hook. The cartridge is attached to either wood or T-posts by poly insulator then wired up to the existing electric fence. Since it will swivel up to 180 degrees on the insulators, the cartridge and its up-to-20 feet of electric-fence wire will accommodate multiple gate openings.
