The Gap Zapper Electric Cattle Guard is a 4-foot-wide, flexible, two-layered rubber mat. A special compound in the top layer makes it conductive and delivers the same shock as an electric fence when an animal steps on, touches, or sniffs the mat. However, a vehicle with rubber tires or a person wearing rubber- or vinyl-soled shoes can cross over with no harm. The Gap Zapper is portable (can be rolled up and moved from one fence opening or gap to another at any time), is easy to install (is rolled out then attached to an existing electric fence system or stand-alone fence charger), is virtually maintenance-free (requires no special care or cleaning), and is relatively inexpensive (compared to pit-style or portable steel cattle guards).
