Most truck-box-access ladders protrude out somewhat from the side of the box. This makes it difficult to secure the tarp and requires a wider space for parking and loading/unloading. The E-Z Climb Truck Ladder, on the other hand, snaps flush against the side when not in use and simply folds out and down by pulling on the handles. It's held in place in the flush position by two automatic latches.
