Drivematic Clutch Control System

The Drivematic Clutch Control System uses vacuum to operate the clutch for shifting a manual transmission. A sensor on the gear-shift lever signals the clutch to disengage when the driver grips or moves the lever. After the vehicle is in gear, another sensor signals the clutch to reengage. The system, which is controlled by electronics and pneumatics, has also been adapted for use on large trucks and farm tractors with standard transmissions.
