Mechanical Hand Brake Levers
Mechanical Hand Brake Levers

Newhall, IA, farmer Rick Hertle has made two Mechanical Hand Brake Levers from lengths of rectangular steel bar stock. Each bar was offset at the top to allow him to activate each brake individually. The levers pivot around a bolt that extends through a steel bracket mounted to the tractor's instrument panel. Lengths of square bar stock were attached between the lower ends of the levers and the brake pedal shanks. Pulling back on the levers forces the brake pedal shanks forward, actuating the brakes.
