Wheelchair-Accessible Wooden Picnic Table
Wheelchair-Accessible Wooden Picnic Table
Two pictures—(1) a wooden table, its tabletop extended well beyond its frames to accommodate a person in a chair at each end; (2) design plans for the DIY’er.

The Wheelchair-Accessible Wooden Picnic Table, which may be either purchased or built from a free set of plans, is similar to standard ones, except that the end of one bench is cut short to allow a wheelchair to roll under the slightly extended table-top. Standard picnic tables can be modified by either shortening one of the benches or lengthening the tabletop past the end of the benches, as shown here.
