Pig Holder
Ink drawing of the device plus a photo of it holding a pig by its hind legs.

A Pig Holder is used to hold a small pig by its hind legs, allowing a farmer to castrate and vaccinate with only one hand. The device shown here consists of a portable bracket that's fastens to the top of a gate or farrowing crate, two rods extending horizontally from the bracket, and two sets of hooks welded to each rod. The set closest to the bracket faces downward to hold the pig's feet, while the set closest to the end of the rod faces upward to support its legs. (Note: Although this particular holder is no longer commercially available, it would not be difficult to make one.)
