NeverKnot
Man’s hand holding a thick rope that’s coiled around this device’s the shiny metal rings which extend out from a base plate that’s bolted to a vertical 2x4.

The NeverKnot is a self-fastening, opencoil device used to instantly secure and release any flexible rope line with one hand. Although no longer manufactured, the concept has numerous potential ranching applications. To secure a rope with a fixed loop to the NeverKnot, the loop is dropped by one hand over the open coil, and the rope pulled to the front.
