Homemade 360-Degree Welding Table
Left pic of homemade 360 degree welding table in a shop. Rt pic showing one end of 360 degree welding table with turning mechanism.

With his Homemade 360-Degree Welding Table plus an overhead hoist, John Martens (Sanford, Manitoba) fabricates liquid-fertilizer caddies. He uses the table to clamp and weld the caddy frame and attach the wheels, then uses the hoist to pick up and set it on the floor. The table is made from 4- x 6-inch steel tubing, with both ends supported by 3- x 3-inch angle iron legs and having pipe-in-pipe bearings. At one of the ends, the bearing is attached to a forward/reverse drive irrigation-wheel gearbox that's powered by a 3/4-hp motor, its speed slowed by a pulley from an old combine. Between the table legs and floor, Martens put adjustable screws made from threaded rods, which have steel pads that rest on the floor. The rods turn via two welded-together nuts at the base of each leg, which allows him to raise/lower the table and level its ends. Martens put a goose leg in the table to accommodate the design of fertilizer caddies; although it could be any design, he found it works with other welding projects as well.
