Homemade Post Driver for Electric Fences
Color drawing of white driver made of vertical angle-iron with a square flat cap welded on top - a round handle welded just below the top - & a footstep welded at the bottom. An orange electric fence post is shown next to it with yellow insulator.

This Homemade Post Driver for Electric Fences allows Beloit (KS) farmer Don Hewitt to move posts from one location to another without having to remove the insulators. His device consists of a section of lightweight 11/4-inch angle iron to which he welded a steel cap and handle at the top and a footstep several inches up from the bottom. To drive in a post, Hewitt merely applies his body weight to the footstep.
