Two hand-held plastic spreaders. Left is tan & green with SCOTTS WIZZ label. Right is red & black with Einhell label.

A Cordless Hand-Held Spreader is used to seed, feed, and weed the lawn or garden during the growing season and also to sand or de-ice in winter. It can be used by a worker with one hand or by someone walking with a cane or driving a wheelchair to spread material without cranking a handle. The Einhell Universal runs off an 18-volt rechargeable lithium-ion battery, has a 31/2-quart-capacity container, six-level speed and eight-level spreading volume controllers, adjustable spreading width (up to 16+ feet), and soft-grip handle. (Battery and charger sold separately.) The Scotts Wizz runs off of four AA batteries, holds 2,500 square feet of product, provides 23 settings for different types of material, and has an EdgeGuard feature that will block off one side to prevent spreading into non-desired areas.
