Drive-Over Electric Gate
Car on the cattle guard, showing the staked-in metal anchor units opposite each other and the electrified conductive cord running between them.

The Drive-Over Electric Gate (no longer available commercially) is a steel frame cattle guard anchored into the ground at each end by metal stakes. Conductive cords, which stretch a few inches above the ground between spring-loaded insulators hooked to the gate frame, are electri-fied by a standard fence charger. The cords can be driven over by a vehicle without turning off the electricity. Especially helpful at frequently used entrances, the gate can be moved to different locations, since it is merely staked into the ground.
