The Steel Toe Guard is reportedly designed to be strong enough to withstand up to 75 foot-pounds of impact but light enough (12 ounces) to be worn all day without causing discomfort because it doesn't encase the toe. Made of 16-gauge steel and available in 4- or 41/2-inch widths, the guard includes rubber toe clip, crossbar, and either a one-piece rubber strap or a two-piece leather strap with spring fastener to keep it properly positioned.
