DTo aid those who have balance/stability issues, the Universal Access Assist for Zero Turn Mowers is designed to provide the leverage needed for getting on and off or for shifting from a sitting to a standing position. The manufactured version mounts on the footplate using the plate's existing holes and is secured by lock-nuts. Kenneth Preston's homemade version is a 2-inch-diameter, 30-inch-long galvanized pipe with grab-bar consisting of nipple, elbow, cap, and railing base; the arm is secured to the mower deck using countersunk 1/4-inch machine bolts.
