Homemade Livestock Corral Catwalk
Homemade Livestock Corral Catwalk

Bruner (MO) rancher Randy Miller'sHomemade Livestock Corral Catwalk makes for a safer and healthier working environment for both the animals and the handler by removing him from the alley and chute areas. Wrapping around the entire corral and leading up to two loading chutes, the catwalk is about waist high off the ground and fitted with ladders and handrails. Its walkway is made from welded bar grating and the handrails from angle iron welded to channel iron posts; bracing is welded 41/2-feet upright metal posts. Using, ropes, pulleys, and sliding doors, all alley gates are controlled from the catwalk. Sides of the corral are solid sheet metal so the animals can't see the lower half of the handler.
