Wheelchair Wheelblades
Cost range: See below
Limitations Addressed by Product: Lower extremity
Wheelchair Wheelblades are small skis that attach to the front caster wheels to markedly improve the chair's mobility over snow and ice. The product has a wide contact surface that distributes the driver's pressure evenly and prevents the wheels from sinking into the snow or slush. The two tracking channels on the underside compress the snow to improve stability. Wheelblades are reportedly lightweight, shock- and friction-proof, attach/detach in seconds with but little hand strength, and feature adjustable clamp locks that will accommodate virtually all commonly used caster wheels.
