Homemade Big Round Bale Unroller
Homemade Big Round Bale Unroller

Longview (TX) cattleman Lawrence McKelvey designed and had a welding shop build this Homemade Big Round Bale Unroller out of a 16-inch-diameter wheel and scrap steel box tubing. The wheel rotates on an axle mounted to the box-tubing frame, which, in turn, is pin-attached to his tractor's front bumper. Via the hay fork on the back of the tractor, McKelvey transports a bale from hay yard to feeding site, cuts the strings, then pushes the wheel against the bale to start unrolling it. If he doesn't want to feed the entire bale, he merely picks up what's left with the fork and returns it to the hay yard.
