The Mulch-Master Straw Chopper, with its 76 cutting knives, can reportedly chop and spread a bale of straw in less than a minute, saving both time and physical exertion versus mulching by hand. Having an 18-inch-diameter by 6-inch-wide blower, the machine fits onto a pickup truck bed or trailer (wheel kit optional, as is a 30-foot flexible mulch hose). Features of the Mulch-Master include: (1) tilt-top for easy access to the knives for sharpening/adjusting; (2) plastic top, which closes the gap between tilt-top and hopper so material being chopped (including newspaper) won't bind; (3) non-slip double V-belt drive for efficient transmission of power; (4) enclosed oil-bath gear box to drive the steel-blade hopper, which glides on four large bearings; (5) adjustable grate, allowing six different height settings to control output/cutting length; and (6) spiral design to ensure uniform, continuous cutting with less horsepower.
