AgriSafe joined the National AgrAbility team in 2021 to enhance the delivery of AgrAbility’s resources and services through the extensive network of rural health professionals that has been developed by AgriSafe over the past twenty years. This includes identification of AgrAbility’s resources and services in AgriSafe’s newsletters and other communications. AgriSafe works with the NAP to increase participation in webinar series that target rural health care professionals with current, evidence-based information on health and safety issues that impact farm and ranch families.
Abigail Kahrs is the program coordinator for AgriSafe. She holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science as well as a master’s in public health. She organizes and coordinates educational opportunities and resources for farmers, farm labor contractors, farmworkers, and their families on issues associated with health and work safety (pesticide safety, weather protection, and other occupational hazards) as well as overall agricultural worker family well-being.
