Agricultural Stress, Resiliency, and Mental Wellness: A Nevada Case Study

This webinar will provide an overview of the WRASAP (Western Region Agricultural Stress Assistance Program) project, as well as select data from ag producer and worker surveys. The presenters will share more on how they are building capacity around ag stress in Nevada, including some of the victories and challenges they face. The webinar will conclude with some plans for future work.

Our Presenters:
Brenda Freeman, Ph.D., Professor, University of Nevada Counselor Education/UNR Extension Mental Health Specialist. Dr. Freeman holds an undergraduate degree in fine arts/education from Boise State University, an MS degree in counseling from Emporia State University, and a Ph.D. in counselor education from the University of Wyoming. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor with experience in clinical counseling, international student counseling, grief and loss counseling, and program evaluation consultation with American Indian/Alaska Native programs.

Lindsay Chichester, Ph.D., Associate Professor, University of Nevada, Reno Extension. Dr. Chichester grew up on a cattle and sheep ranch. She attended West Texas A&M University where she obtained a MS in animal science, an MA in speech communication, and a Ph.D. in systems agriculture. Her Extension focus has been on youth livestock quality assurance, meat animal quality, and beekeeping programs.
