Top-Hook Hitch Pin
Top-Hook Hitch Pin

When pulling an implement over rough terrain or ditches, the hitch pin sometimes can be knocked out of the drawbar. The Top-Hook Hitch Pin developed by a Pennsylvania farmer alleviates this problem. The top of the hitch pin is welded to one end of a flat rectangular plate, and a hole is drilled through the other end of the plate. A rod stub is welded onto the drawbar such that, when the pin is inserted into the drawbar, the hole in the rectangular plate will fit over the stub. A safety clip inserted into a hole drilled through the stub holds the plate-pin assembly in the drawbar hole.
