Homemade PTO Decoupler

Hiawatha, Kansas, farmer Jim Meuller's Homemade PTO Decoupler has enabled for him an anything-but-easy task. His device consists simply of a U-shaped lever and a flange that he bolted (via self-locking nuts) between and a few inches down from the lever ends. The nuts hold the flange in place while allowing it to pivot. Tabs on the shaft edges of the flange are what catch the front edge of the coupler. Mueller fits the flange over the PTO shaft and pulls the lever towards him. This results in the flange tabs pushing the coupler off the shaft as the lever ends press against it. Since there are different coupler styles/sizes/leverage points, he has made different types of flanges.
