The PTO-powered Eco-Mixer Compost Turner, which can be towed by a small (as little as 16 hp) tractor, will reportedly mix up to 75 tons in less than a half hour, provided the tractor has hydrostatic transmission so it can be driven slowly. The implement's tubular agitator, which is fitted with 9-inch paddles and rotates at 180 rpm, is designed to handle a windrow of compost that's 3 feet high and 6-7 feet wide. Its double-jointed PTO shaft connects to a gearbox that drives the shaft, and its overhead tongue (offset to allow the operator to drive beside the windrow) couples to a ball hitch welded to the tractor's three-point mounted frame. An optional gravity-flow watering kit is available that adds water to the compost as it's being turned.
