Paper Pot Transplanting System
Paper Pot Transplanting System

The Paper Pot Transplanting System provides a way to row-plant vegetable, flower, and herb seedlings, without one having to kneel, crawl, or stoop. The system utilizes a hand-pulled transplanter that accommodates a 264-cell tray with seedling-contained paper pots in each tray that are connected to one another in a chain. To transplant, a tray of seedlings is placed on the platform of the transplanter, which is then pulled a few feet to begin creating a furrow; one end of the paper pot chain is pulled down into the furrow and a metal stake inserted through the first cell to secure the start of the paper chain; as the transplanter is pulled down the row, all the chained paper-pot seedlings go into the ground, one after the other; lastly, metal flanges at the rear of the machine push soil over the paper pots and packing wheels tamp the soil.
