AMKAR Mobility Conversion

AMKAR is a customized version of the GEM (Global Electric Motocar) that’s modified to accommodate the mobility limitations of persons with various disabilities. Intended for “neighborhood driving” and short commutes, the GEM accelerates up to 25 mph, has an operating range of 30 miles, and rechareges in 6-8 hours from any 110-volt outlet. The AMKAR allows the operator to drive by remaining in his/her wheelchair/scooter or transfering to the driver’s seat. Other Conversion features include: wireless-remote folding wheelchair-accessible ramp, wheelchair/scooter tie-down and safety-belt systems, snap-in seats, and optional push-pull hand controls for accelerating and braking.
