Cab-Controlled Three-Point Hitching Device

Greenville, IL, farmer George Wiemers has developed a Cab-Controlled Three-Point Hitching Device that consists of a hydraulic cylinder (in place of the usual top-link turnbuckle), a Quick Hitch (as described above), and a rope-pulley system. The hydraulic cylinder, which is actuated by the tractor’s hydraulics, allows Wiemers to change the tilt of the Quick Hitch without leaving the cab. The rope- pulley system, controlled by a switch in the cab, locks and unlocks the latches on the lower hooks of the Quick Hitch. An automobile electric window motor and spool are utilized to pull the ropes in two directions. The ropes wind around the motor spool then follow a series of pulleys to attach to both sides of each latch lever. When the motor turns one direction, the levers are pulled up to release the implement pins; when the motor turns the opposite direction, the levers are pulled down and the implement pins lock into place.
