Brush Grubber Brush-Clearing Device
The Brush Grubber Brush-Clearing Device pulls out small trees, bushes, and other overgrowth by the roots, thus eliminating either stumps or the chance of regrowth. Consisting of a pair of 360-degree-rotating ‘grip pads’ (each having eight spikes) attached to a spring-loaded, scissors-type jaw, the device grips a small tree trunk or brush stems and tightens when pulled backward. Three models are available: one attaches to a chain for use with a lawn tractor, ATV, or utility vehicle; one attaches to the front edge of a loader bucket; and a hand-powered model is available for post-pulling and small brush. See website for other models.
Cost: $60-$500 depending on the model
Impairment Category: Back, Lower extremity, Strength/endurance, Upper extremity
Caution: Tasks like tree felling, brush clearing, log splitting, and wood cutting are dangerous, and utmost caution should be used to protect the operator and bystanders. Follow the recommendations of the equipment/tool manufacturer for proper use and for necessary protective equipment needed for safe operation.
