Grain Drill Seed-Level Indicator
A Michigan farmer made a Grain Drill Seed-Level Indicator that eliminates having to constantly get off his tractor to check the drill’s seed supply. The device consists of 14-inch rod welded to the center of an 8-inch by 8-inch, thin-gauge metal plate. The rod, which is 1 inch longer than the depth of the drill seed box, fits through a 1/2-inch hole in the box’s lid. When the box is full, the rod protrudes out the top. As the seed is sown, the metal plate and rod lower, indicating the seed level to the operator.
