Gator Brake/Throttle Hand Controls
Hillsdale, IN, farmer Dave Greeves fabricated the Gator Brake/Throttle Hand Controls from modified automotive hand controls. First, he linked the brake to the control mechanism (just as in a car). Then, because the throttle pedal was farther than usual from the brake, he extended the throttle lever to contact another lever hinged to the vehicle floor [[[(see figure)]]]. That floor-mounted lever contacts the throttle lever before fastening to the standard hand-control link. This modification prevents standard foot operation of the accelerator.
