Pickup Truck Liftgate

Capable of hoisting 500-, 1,000-, or 1,300- pounds, the Pickup Truck Liftgate doubles as a tailgate when in transport position. To hoist items into the truck, the liftgate folds down to a horizontal position and is lowered to the ground on a parallel linkage to keep it level. The platform is raised and lowered by a 12-volt electro-hydraulic system that extends and retracts a cable fastened to the linkage. Depending on the model of the liftgate and pickup truck, the liftgate can travel up and down approximately 40 inches and has a 38-inch-wide platform.
