The Hinged Tailgate is an aftermarket product that mounts on any truck. It is hinged so it can both fold up or down, and swing open in the middle. Each side is independent of the other, allowing half the gate to be opened while the other half remains closed. This side-opening feature would be helpful for those using a wheelchair, because they could reach further into the truck bed than would be possible with a lowered tailgate.
