Homemade Top-Side Mechanic’s Creeper
Wesley Linn of Mena, AR, fabricated a Homemade Top-Side Mechanic’s Creeper to help reduce the back strain he experienced when working on truck or automobile engines from above. The device consists of a caster-wheeled frame made from steel tubing and angle iron, with a ladder leading up to a foam-rubber-padded, 4-foot-long, adjustable-height platform, which can be raised manually to as high as 6 feet. Linn then lays face down to work on the vehicle’s engine.
