Grip Prehensor
The Grip Prehensor is a high-quality, sophisticated hand-replacement prosthetic device. It provides amputees the capability of performing a wide range of tasks—from delicate, such as slicing a tomato or peeling a banana, to heavy-duty, like handling a shovel or steering wheel, swinging an axe, or grasping a wrench or chisel [[[(Figs. 1 and 2)]]]. The device utilizes powerful, “voluntary closing” shoulder strength to create a controllable gripping force. It’s available in two models—the Grip 3, with replaceable polyurethane gripping surfaces; and the Grip 2S, a proven “workhorse.” Both are made of titanium and surgical-quality stainless steel; readily adapt to standard, cable-operated, body-powered prosthetic arms; and need only minimal maintenance.
