Wheeled Snow Shovel

Plagued with back trouble, Charles German, of Rochester, MN, invented a Wheeled Snow Shovel that lets him remove snow without having to lift or bend. It is simply a 30-inch-wide blade, wooden-handled snow shovel attached to a metal frame with two sets of wheels at the bottom and a pair of long handles at the back. To scoop, German pushes the device into the snow, sometimes with the help of a kick bar above the rear set of wheels. To dump, he raise the unit up on its back wheels so the blade is about 2½ feet off the ground then releases the retainer over the end of the shovel handle, causing the handle to flip up and the snow to flip off the blade. Dumping is done to either the right, left, or front.
