Hand-Held Domed Herbicide Sprayer

A Hand-Held Domed Herbicide Sprayer is designed for weed control particularly in situations where protection against spray drift is important (e.g., ground fruit, vegetable, or flower crops, orchards, vineyards). Concentrated chemicals are sprayed in a fine mist to kill weeds directly under the dome without damaging other plants in close proximity. This can be particularly helpful for workers who cannot see well. The Pulmipur 6005 (intended primarily for small growers and homeowners) has a long handle with a dome that shields the spray nozzle. A triggered handle starts and stops the sprayer and holds a 1-liter chemical container. The device is powered by two D-cell batteries. The Herbidome 350 (generally used in larger area-operations) is configured like the Pulmipur sprayer, except that the dome rotates along with the dispensing mechanism and both the power source (larger battery) and chemical container (5- or 10-liter) are housed in a backpack.
