Homemade Gate Catcher
To make this Homemade Gate Catcher, Copperas Cove (TX) rancher Aubrey Townsend used his shop vise to form a U-shaped indentation in a torch-heated 3/4-inch metal rod. He then anchored it in the ground immediately in front of the fence post where the gate closes. To secure the gate, he merely pushes or pulls it until the under-frame slips into the “U.” To open the gate, he lifts it enough so the under-frame slips out of the “U.”
