Sheep/Goat Sort Gate

A Sheep/Goat Sort Gate at the end of the chute or raceway provides three functions: sorting the animals to the left or to the right or stopping them altogether to allow for closer observation, simply by moving the gate-operating handle. Most makes also allow the handle to be locked in any of these three positions. Common sorting rate is reportedly around 100 animals per 5 minutes. Some models are open-bar types, others solid metal or tarp. The gate also acts as a support for the raceway panels.
