Hog Ring Fastener Tool
The Hog Ring Fastener Tool affixes C-shaped collated fasteners (commonly known as ‘hog rings’) to wire, fabric, and other materials by locking them into a circular shape. Among the items where hog rings are used for assembly, repair, or closure include: wire cages, chain-link fences, netting, and erosion control and nursery fabrics. The tool may be manual (often called a pliers) or pneumatic (often called a gun). The rings, which come in 50-ring strips or cartridges, are automatically fed out of the tool’s spring-fed magazine, with a next ring sliding into place as soon as previous one is clamped by squeezing the handles of the pliers or the trigger of the gun.
Cost: Manual-from $100; pneumatic-from $250
Limitations Addressed: Lower extremity, Strength/endurance, Upper extremity
