Homemade Wire Fence Drive-Over Attachment
Tired of constantly having to get off his ATV to open/close the “gates” of the single-wire electric fences used to separate his farm’s 40 paddocks, Manteno, IL, dairyman David Surprenant designed this Homemade Wire Fence Drive-Over Attachment that allows him to go from one paddock to another without stopping. Mounted with bolts just below the ATV’s frame, the attachment is simply a 11/2-inch-wide flat bar that runs from back to front then 30 inches beyond, angled up at about 45 degrees. It catches the wire ahead of the ATV and directs it down as the machine drives over. Once passed, the fence springs back up.
