Big-Bale Net Wrap Cutter
With his homemade Big-Bale Net Wrap Cutter, rancher Dick Schirado claims that he can remove in minutes the net wrap from a big round bale without having to leave the tractor seat. The device consists of a steel blade mounted atop a stable 7-foot-wide by 4-foot-tall metal pipe frame. Schirado simply picks up a bale with his tractor’s grapple fork (Note-loader with hay fork will also reportedly work) and slides it gently across the blade, which cuts off the wrap. He then uses the grapple to pick off the netting. Attaching the cutter to a hay-feeding trailer allows one to take it wherever he goes.
