Hoof Stand
The Hoof Stand eliminates having to support the horse’s leg with one’s body or to put the hoof between one’s knees in order to shoe, trim, treat, bandage, etc. Most makes of the device include a large-diameter base, magnets (to hold rasp, nippers, knife), a cradle, and straight post with rubber cap (for clipping or applying hoof polish). Using a hoof stand allows the horse to stand in an anatomically correct, comfortable position, resulting in its being more compliant during treatment. Stands are available in various models, such as mini, medium, standard, geriatric, draft, and combo.
