One-Person Gas-Powered Earth Auger
The One-Person Gas-Powered Earth Auger, which consists of a powerhead and auger bit(s), is used to drill holes in the ground for such tasks as setting fence/pole barn/deck posts, planting trees/shrubs, etc. The powerheads are usually two-cycle engines that vary in horsepower, RPM, and torque output depending on make and model. Most feature fast-start primers; sound-reduction systems; foam-grip, high-leverage, anti-vibration handles; see-through gas tanks to check fuel; quick-stop brakes; and transmission lock-out for easy back-out if the bit gets stuck.
